What a week for Ellis athletics!
🏈 Football moves to 4–0 after a big win over Mooresville last night.
🎾 Girls Tennis brought home a victory against West Rowan.
🥎 Softball snagged the W against Knox.
⛳ Golf had a strong showing, finishing 2nd in yesterday’s match.
And here’s the best part — nearly 140 of our Jaguars are involved in fall sports, which is almost one‑third of our entire school. That’s incredible involvement, teamwork, and school pride.
Way to go, Jaguars! Keep leading the way! 🐾🟣🟠
Fall Pictures are happening Monday, September 14.
Homerooms will send home all the details, and families can order online at strawbridge.net with code PX500890.
Let’s make it a picture‑perfect day! 🍂

Enjoy your Labor Day Holiday! See you back at school on Tuesday.

Our Jaguars worked together in the Art room to recreate a drawing — but with a twist! Each student guided the marker only using their piece of yarn, making teamwork the key to success 🐾🎨

Check out what's happening this week at Ellis! We hope to see all of our students dressed in WEMS or House Colors on Friday! UPDATE - all home games have been moved to 6 pm due to the heat and Cross Country on Wednesday has been cancelled.

Ellis hasTWO spirit rocks! Sign up to recognize your child, a school club, or a team! https://m.signupgenius.com/#!/showSignUp/30E0A49ACAC2DA1FD0-64810407-rent?useFullSite=false

Students in Mrs. Watson’s class took on the Paper Tower Challenge this week — using only a few sheets of paper, tape, and scissors to design and build the tallest, strongest tower they could imagine.
Teams brainstormed, planned, built, tested… and then reflected on what worked and what they’d change next time. Talk about creativity, teamwork, and problem‑solving in action!

• 7th graders in Ms. Beck’s and Mrs. Greene’s classes dove into creative writing activities that had them thinking, drafting, and sharing their ideas.
• Over in Mrs. Kovich’s room, students grabbed their whiteboards to work through math problems and show their reasoning.
• And our 6th‑grade band students practiced how to correctly hold their mouthpiece—building strong fundamentals from day one.
We love seeing our students engaged, confident, and growing every single day! 💜🐾🧡

We loved seeing our Jaguars problem‑solving, connecting with each other, and diving into learning all about Ellis and their classes. Such an awesome start to the year! 💜🧡🐾
